I remember for at least 45 seconds after that the world moved in slow motion. We sat there, mouths agape when Rachel Bossi said something like "turn on the TV, this is Social Studies right now!". Class was over. I yelled at Tony for his incompetance and asked if anything else had happened, like had we discovered life on mars or had we discovered a cure for cancer. I sat down in the Lair of the Media Hags, where I used the computer and found out more from MSNBC. We went to lunch and then to Mrs. Springer's Class. (Note: This became a writing assignment in Mrs. Springer's class. A writing assignment that I failed beyond belief. What do you think of me now, Mrs. Springer!) I don't remember what happened 7th period or if there even was 7th period. I remember not doing anything in IT but reading about places across the United States being closed. I remember how scared everybody was, how incompetant and cagey Tony was and how three days there was nothing else on TV. I also remember that on a day, where we didn't know whether we were the victims of an act of terrorism, or if this was an act that would lead us into war for the next four years, knowing that nothing would ever be the same. I remember seeing that the rubble was being taken to Fresh Kills landfill in New Jersey. I remember the irony being sickening. I remember the president addressing the American people at 8:00 PM. These are my memories. My name is Michael Christie, and where was I when the Towers fell. I was taking ISTEP. I was thirteen years old.
