Bart Peterson was recently re-elected as Mayor of Indianapolis and for good reason. Things in the nation's twelveth largest city are good. Downtown we have Victory Field. A new state museum, the White River Gardens. We got a new Basketball Fieldhouse and a new Marriott in the middle of downtown. Not to mention a recently expanded Convention Center. Bart Peterson is doing a great job. Is there anything that bothers me about life in Indianapolis. Doesn't seem to, does it now?
Well there is something actually...
Construction
Construction. The Gridlock of 56th Street at 7:00 AM. They're redoing the road and the intersection there at 465, and this latest pointless reconstruction is just making people late, pissing people off and making it impossible to get anywhere conveniently.
Actually this is probably a Lawrence issue. It may be one of the reasons voters kicked Tommy Schinider's ass out of office. Probably because all of his supporters were stuck in traffic. Or something.
And the funniest. The estimated date of this preternaturally stupid undertaking?
November 15th, 2003.
That was yesterday. There's not a chance in HELL that they'll be done.
I guarentee that Monday November 17th, the workers will get in their stupid vehicles and try to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place. I guarantee it.
I just wonder who the moron was who put the Middle School across the street from high school on a street that is inconvienient in the first place and in the second place. More Crowded than I-5 at 5:00 PM.
And who was the sadist who thought "Let's dismiss them both at the same time" And the guy who decided that there doesn't need to be a cop directing traffic while 175 high school students try to push their way out of the one parking lot entrance. There is no back way out either. There is also no convenient way to get to McKenzie from our school.
