What Kind of Life Has It Been

My name is Jonah, and this is the new blog. I carry on Michael's torch while he lights himself on fire over at http://www.whatkindofdayhasitbeen.squarespace.com

Poem Time!

I wrote a poem that actually rhymes.

The Sky

Before I met you I had never seen the sky.
I lived in a nice house with a very pretty ceiling,
And I stared at it, content but unfeeling.
You brought me outside to show me the sky.

The sky doesn’t meet the walls and stop-.
The sky goes on forever without a break.
We have filled the ground with everything we can make.
All we can put in the sky are a few small dots.

The sky isn’t always blue in the day, or starry at night.
Sometimes it’s filled with clouds.
Sometimes it thunders aloud,
And rain, snow and hail come down to spite.

If I’d stayed inside, I might have been dry.
But I have a whole lifetime for that.
Out here with you I don’t mind being wet.
Today, I live for the sky.

That's a nice poem, Jonah, and an interesting rhyme scheme. I like it. Good job!

The rhyme scheme is really cool. I think the last stanza is my favourtie. So perfect. Yay for Jonah Poetry!
